My inspiration came and still comes from my many teachers, sharing with my clay buddies, the millennia(!) and astounding diversity of clay traditions, and the ceaseless wonders of nature around us.

I have been “messing” with clay for over fifty years. I like the endless possibilities clay offers. Mostly, I do handbuilt sculptures of critters with an occasional human thrown in.

My work in clay often is a response to social or environmental concerns, all done with a touch of whimsy. Currently I am finishing a group of smaller pieces reflecting the plight of wild animals in our troubled world.

We discovered Guemes thirteen years ago. It just seems to get even better with time.
