What inspires my art is our coexistence with the sea life that surrounds us.

I began experimenting with art about 4 years ago, a little after I retired in 2022. Despite having two sisters who are artists and a daughter who is an art teacher, I've discovered a newfound respect and appreciation for beauty in art that I'd never experienced before. It's been a wonderful journey of discovery.

I have been coming to Guemes Island since I was sixteen, drawn by the magic of this place that my family has loved since the sixties, when my husband's aunt, uncle and parents bought land here. You'll almost always find us beachcombing while waiting for the ferry, gathering little treasures from the land and shore. These found items- especially the bleached driftwood and unique rocks-make up the heart of my art pieces.
