PORTRAITS - CAPTURING YOUR ISLAND CHARACTER

My husband and I moved to Guemes Island in 2017 where we have lived full-time since. We retired in 2016 and hit the road in a 38’ Class A motorhome after selling our home in Northern California, an hour south of Mt Shasta. The goal was to enjoy learning firsthand about the USA. We are left with such fantastic memories.

We had boated in the San Juans years earlier and had a son living in Bellingham when we moved to Guemes. Familiar with the area, our thoughts kept returning to the PNW as we traveled the circumference of the country. Thus, it is here we landed and it is good.

While I have always enjoyed many photography genres, it has been rewarding to focus on PORTRAITS of islanders. You will recognize some of these fine folks in the shared images. It’s given me such a wonderful avenue to meet more Guemenians and get to know some better. Color me appreciative.
