Welcome to an island brimming with creativity for the Summer Art Market and community celebration, on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 10:00 to 4:00. Three art market locations and easy walking distance from the ferry plus information booths hosted by community organizations and a fun local plant sale. Art events are held twice a year with the summer event having a more centralized location with a festival vibe.

Open to artists and craftspeople from Guemes Island offering original art or creative crafts. Art Market locations are found within an easy walking distance... or maybe a few stops by bike or car.

Check it out! Highlights of the event:

  1. Beautiful art and creative crafts inside and outside at the Community Hall as a first stop of the Art Market. Free MAPS to all of the locations found here.

  2. Tasty homemade treats at the Bake Sale with fresh coffee staffed by Guemes Emergency Team volunteers will be located at the Hall.

  3. The Art Market also continues at the Spirit of Guemes (church) including a series of art demos including fish printing, collage and spinning yarn.

  4. Annual plant sale with garden art to benefit kids’ programs will be located along the pathway. Open from 10:00 to 2:00.

  5. Information booths for many community organizations... learn about GIVE, GET, GIFT and more from 10:00 to 2:00

  6. Guemes Store will have several artists as the third Art Market location. Of special note, art created by the late Kit Marcinko will be offered for sale with 20% of the income going to Guemes Island Fire Department... this is a real “fire sale” as these are treasured items that survived a major fire at his studio!

  7. Honoring the heroes who helped save much of “fire sale” artwork, Guemes Island Fire Department will have an active demo on the south lawn at the Guemes Store (unless called away for an island emergency). On site from 10:00 to 2:00.

  8. Two fabulous Art Studios will be open... both are located in Holiday Hideaway with oil paintings, cards and wood turned bowls,

  9. Tours of the “House within a Greenhouse” located close to the three studios.

Mark your calendars for Saturday May 31 to make sure you do not miss this action-packed day of art, information and fun! Click the link below
